What are we all about?
People may ask us, "What is the men's ministry?" "What
does it mean to be a Man of God at Work?" In response we
say we are firstly men - with all our dreams, hopes, joys,
and yet also our failings and sins. Because we are men we must
struggle and fight to maintain a relationship with God, to belong
to God - to be of God. And finally that we are constantly
at work - at work on ourselves to become better disciples
of Christ, at work on our families to lead them towards Christ,
at work within our church to support and sustain it as it supports
and sustains us, at work within our community through missions
and ministry and evangelism.
The Men's Ministry is there to help the men of South Peoria
learn what God expects of them and to help them on their mission.
To help men grow stronger in Christ and learn to serve him more
diligently, pray more faithfully, seek him more fervently and
that by grace of God they become an even better husband, father,
brother, son, worker.
The Men's Ministry is there to stand beside you, to help you
find ways to add to your effectiveness at all these tasks, to
offer you opportunity for fellowship and fun, for support, to
offer you the chance to serve and minister to your fellow brothers
and sisters as well as our community.
In a nutshell, the mission of the South Peoria Baptist Men's
Ministry is to draw men closer towards Christ, to support them
in their life-roles, and to help them grow through regular opportunities
for fellowship, discipleship, ministry and missions.
The Men's Ministry offers a place for Men's Fellowship
Throughout the year, the Men's Ministry hosts events that
bring men together so they can form deep friendships. From time
to time we all need each other's support; whether it's
packing boxes for a move, help with yard work, or just a cup
of coffee to talk over a hard day's events. Men are encouraged
to attend the monthly gatherings as well as to become part of
a weekly small group. We have events for men and the whole family.
The Men's Ministry offers a place for Men's Discipleship
Together, we'll learn ways to develop our character and
grow closer to Christ through regular bible study, devotions
and retreats.
The Men's Ministry offers a place for Church Ministry
We engage the needs of the church family and work together to
support the mission of the church and its members through opportunities
like the Home Repair Service, the Career Coaching Service, and
the Church Website. We find ways to support the other church
ministries so that they too can become more effective.
The Men's Ministry offers a place for Missions
We partner with other ministries in and outside our church to
find opportunities for missions.
